| Milan trend report 2006 |
Last week we reported directly from Zona Tortona in Milan. After a look into the new Rho Pero we certainly come to the conclusion that the fair, despite long walks and navigating problems, once again was very inspiring. This is a few other trends that we spotted: ALL THE WAY; A distinct trend is to go all the way – with one single pattern och colour. Tom Dixon did it with his fantastic matching pattern on wallpapers, textiles and furniture. And we can definitely say that white is not out. At least as long as it’s white and only white. DRESSED UP; Fashion is interior is fashion. It becomes very obvious when the sofa looks like a chalk-stripe suit, like Monica Förster’s sofa for Tacchini or the tweed sofa from Moooi. Or like Moroso that showcased both dress and chair in the same textile. STEALTH; The stealth aesthetics was to be seen everywhere – lamps, tables, chairs and so on. Will it last longer than the Rococo period? FutureLab seriously doubt it.
