The furniture fair in Milano is over for this time and FutureDesignDays’ representatives on site all agree. The shining stars in show are Swedish! The design group Front shake ass! Their fantastic, innovative, edgy and different design is breath-taking. And they’re not only very productive. They also work on a level far above most of their competitors. The ideas and the execution are outstanding.
 
Their new collection was on display at the SPAZIO Rossana Orlando gallery. Among the new creations was the Changing Cupboard, with a “pixly” front that alternates between three different patterns; Reflections sideboard, with a high gloss front reflecting a room in black and white; Ajar, a beautiful cabinet that lets out a thin ray of light between the doors – leaving the contemplator with a curiosity about what’s hiding inside. Also on display was the Shadow Light, with a pattern on the inside and just reflecting on the lamp-shade when lights are on. All pieces were very appreciated by the audience and the buzz spread like a wild fire. Swedish design is burning hot.
