Students from all over the world has for the fifth year in succession been invited to contribute to Electrolux Design Lab. The task is always to create household appliances and solutions for the future. This year the future is set to be year 2020. The mission is to create solutions that is ”environmentally-sound, commercially-viable and enable people to live in harmony with the environment”. Thousands of students have participated in the competition the first four years. And it will probably continue to be appreciated. Why? Maybe because this year’s first prize is a cheque worth 5,000 Euros and a sixth-month internship at one of the Electrolux global design centres. The winner will be announced in late November, in Paris. Last year the location was Barcelona and in 2005 the winner was announced in the Blue Hall of Stockholm City Hall during FutureDesignDays. Who wouldn’t want to be there?
