Reuters will update the inhabitants of Second Life with all kinds of news. Since a while back it’s been possible for the players to buy other stuff to their virtual characters. Adidas, American Apparell, Cnet, Toyota and Sony all provide the players with virtual products. The players use the virtual currency named Linden Dollars, which can actually be exchanged to real American dollars. This means it’s theoretically possible to make money in Second Life. The users, or players, buy stuff for approximately 13 million dollars a year. This phenomenon is something we might here more about in Kelly Goto’s speech at FutureDesignDays 13 November.
