Representatives of FutureDesignDays have just come back to Sweden after an inspiring trip to Belgium and the international biennale for creative interior design in Kortrijk. Interieur06 is definitely one of the best fairs in Europe when it comes to furniture and interiors. FutureDesignDays absolute favourite stand at the fair was the young and innovative Belgian brand called DARK, working with lighting design. The founder and owner is Marnick Smessaert who slowly but steadily has conquered the international design scene with their new approach to the design issues and their truly daring expression. FutureDesignDays also took the opportunity to meet with Arne Quinze in his home country. Quinze was of course one of the exhibitors at Interieur06 and as you know he is one of the speakers at this year’s FutureDesignDays festival. He exposed his latest assignment, a huge high-tech truck for Jaga – “The Experience Truck” – created together with Jan Kriekels. Quinze was also responsible for the exhibition stands of Moroso’s and Swarovski’s. Other previous speakers at FutureDesignDays who also was present at Interieur06 was Satyendra Pakhalé (FDD ‘05), Hella Jongerius (FDD ‘03) and Dirk Wynants (FDD 04).
