| Front and Materia awarded with "Guldstolen" |
 Ever since their breakthrough, as winners of FutureDesignDays Award in 2003, the Swedish design group Front has been nothing but successful. Just the other day Front – this time together with Materia – received the prestigious distinction “Guldstolen 2008” (The Golden Chair 2008). They received it for the collaboration around BIN, a trash bin already awarded several times. The jury’s motivation reads: “BIN both illustrates and communicates the problems with garbage in today’s society. The more the trash bin gets filled, the more it bulges. BIN is a successful combination of function, pedagogy, humour and aesthetics. Design and production technology are both worked out in detail, the finish is perfect and the sculptural shape is an aesthetic asset in all the environments where it is placed.” |
