The Swedish interior magazine Residence yearly awards the best Swedish design in 10 different categories. The most interesting winner of 2007 is Save our Souls who received “The Breakthrough of the Year” distinction. Johannes Carlström and Magdalena Nilsson founded Save our Souls in 2005 and have since then been commenting the world around us through their exciting design. They say they want to use the silence between the world’s catastrophes to remind each and everyone. The design is beautiful and thoughtful, often with a twist. Among the other winners is Monica Förster, who was awarded “The Chair of the Year”, and the design group Front got awarded in the category “Storage of the Year”. Both Monica Förster and Front has been awarded the FutureDesignDays Award (2002 and 2003). “Designer of the Year” was given to Fredrik Mattson, who’s also been nominated to FutureDesignDays Award (2003).
