Armand Hadida, founder and owner of L’Eclaireur and the owner of Tranoï became very popular at FutureDesignDays. Our guess is that a lot of the visitors are planning for a trip to Paris, just to visit some of his stores. In this newsletter mr Hadida answered our questions.
What projects are you working with right now?
Carol Christian Poell, Paul Harden, Haute (Vincenzo de Cotiis), Gustavo Lins, Carpe Diem, Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons, Martin Margiela, Dries van Noten, Ann De Meulemeester, to mention a few.
Name a designer/architect you appreciate?
I love architects coming in to the fashion design business – breaking boundaries and collaborating are crucial in the creative process. But if I have to mention one it has to be Carol Christian Poell.
What is the worst design icon off all time?
Those who become very commercial, who start to compromise – Viktor and Rolf going to H&M for example. You can’t sell your soul.
What is your dream project?
I’ve done it for 27 years. I’m very privileged, I can do things other people can’t.
Do you have an idea to share with our blog and newsletter readers?
You should really try to learn to see the difference between originality and copycats.
